Warren PD: Assault on YouTube live stream leads to arrest

Monday, March 4
A resident on Waterview Lane reported seeing someone clear cutting land at 1:06 p.m. They were told the complaint would be forwarded to the building official.

Kaiden Way, 19, of 34 Croade St., Warren, was arrested following an incident on Croade Street at 7:24 p.m. He was charged with two counts of domestic violence (simple assault and/or battery, and disorderly conduct, both first offenses). He was arraigned and released later that evening.

Tuesday, March 5
Dennis A. Calhoun, 43, of 88 Franklin St., Warren, was arrested at 2:14 a.m. They were charged with domestic violence (simple assault and/or battery, first offense), and disorderly conduct. He was arraigned and released later that morning.

An accident involving a vehicle hitting a building on Child Street was reported at 12:11 p.m.

RIDOT was notified at 3:53 p.m. that a light on Metacom Avenue’s northbound side was stuck on flashing. DOT reported that the yellow light would need to be replaced.

Wednesday, March 6
Alexander C. Sieben, 27, of 624 Metacom Ave., Apt. #105, Warren, was arrested at 1:43 a.m. He was charged with two counts of domestic violence (assault by strangulation, and disorderly conduct, first offense). He was transported to court later that morning.

Police received a report that a white van was following an Amazon delivery truck in a suspicious manner on Warren Avenue at 1:29 p.m. They went to the area but found nothing.

Jamie A. Brower, 47, of 2 Namquid Dr., Middletown, was arrested by Middletown PD at 9:32 p.m. and charged with two counts of domestic violence (simple assault and/or battery, and disorderly conduct, both first offenses). He was wanted in connection with an incident in Portsmouth that was being investigated by Portsmouth PD, as well as by Warren PD for another incident that allegedly occurred in Warren. He was transported to Warren police headquarters early the next morning and was arraigned and released afterwards.

Thursday, March 7
A car collided with a deer on Barton Avenue at 3:14 a.m. No one was reported to be injured.

A person came into headquarters on Joyce Street at 11:31 a.m. to report a sexual assault.

A resident of Sea Gull Way reported at 12:23 p.m. that some of their jewelry had been stolen.

A tractor trailer reportedly hit the same building that was struck earlier in the week. This time, the truck caused additional damage to a decorative lamp post on Child Street.

A Main Street resident reported at 5:54 p.m. that they believed someone had entered their home and stolen an envelope of photos. Police reported no signs of forced entry and the door was locked.

Friday, March 8
A store manager on Market Street reported at 10:44 a.m. that the store had received a counterfeit bill over the prior evening.

A Water Street resident reported at 1:17 p.m. that they had received a “fraudulent license” in the mail with their name on it.

A Main Street resident reported at 8:01 p.m. that there was a sick or injured opossum on their stairs. Authorities found no outward signs of illness or injury, and surmised the animal may have been scared by the resident’s dog.

Police received two noise complaints from Detroit Avenue at 10:32 and 11:10 p.m.

Saturday, March 9
A Child Street resident reported at 10:54 a.m. that they believed signs on their property had been stolen, and that two signs had been stolen in 2023.

Police talked to an elderly woman at 11:39 a.m. following a report that there was an erratic driver swerving near Metacom Avenue and Vernon Street. The woman said she had dropped something and was trying to look for it while driving.

Brandon M. Southworth, 47, of 28 Songbird Ln, Tiverton, was arrested by Tiverton PD at 3:13 p.m. for a warrant out of Warren. He was charged with one count of domestic violence (violation of a no contact order, first offense). He was transported to Warren, was arraigned and then transported to the ACI later that evening.

Benjamin S. Thorp, 52, of 428 Child St., Apt. #B, Warren, was arrested at 9:14 p.m. following a report from Providence Police that a Warren man had kicked another man’s daughter during “a live stream on YouTube.” Police checked the stream and allegedly observed the incident. Thorp was charged with two counts of domestic violence (simple assault and/or battery, and disorderly conduct, both first offenses). He was arraigned and released early the following morning.

Sunday, March 10
Flooding rendered the area of Redmond and Market Streets impassable at 8:25 a.m.

Jessica L. Constancia, 41, of 91 Main St., Apt. #265, Warren, was arrested at 4:04 p.m. following a request to remove someone from a Main Street residence. She was charged with two counts of domestic violence (simple assault and/or battery, and disorderly conduct, both first offenses). She was arraigned and released later that evening.
