Warren gives residents extra 25 days to pay taxes

Posted

The Warren Town Council voted unanimously Tuesday night to extend the grace period for quarterly tax payments an additional 25 days — the long-standing policy prior allowed for five days. As a result of the vote to extend, fourth quarter taxes due Friday, May 1 will be accepted without interest or penalties, until Monday, June 1.

Warren Finance Director Fung Chan advised councilors that extending the grace period would have no negative impact on the town’s financial condition. The action on the extension was consistent with the council’s vote to extend the Warren Declaration of Emergency which the members also voted unanimously to approve.
