Customers come out to support restaurant in its final days

Jeff and Michele were busier than one-armed paper hangers Sunday, as hundreds of diners came in to say hello and have breakfast at their breakfast nook, The Restaurant and Cafe on Main Street. The Zellers, who learned recently that their landlord will not renew their lease at the end of March, are being forced to close the restaurant's doors after 19 years.

Mr. Zeller said that as word about the impending closure got out last week, business has been up substantially and they're seeing old friends and customers they haven't seen in years. Sunday was one perhaps one of the restaurant's busiest days ever, he said, with diners lined up out the door all day.

"We're getting a lot of hugs," he said.
