Warrant issued for alleged Tiverton bank robbery suspect

TIVERTON — The Tiverton Police Department has issued a warrant for the arrest of Daniel E. Fernandes, age 22, for the robbery of the Bank Newport bank on Saturday morning, August 17, 2013.

Tiverton Police Captain Patrick Jones said Friday night that Mr. Fernandes is also wanted by the State of Connecticut on a parole violation after he walked away from a pre-release halfway house.

Mr. Fernandes is considered armed and dangerous, said Captain Jones,  and should not be approached.

Police are asking citizens to report any known whereabouts of Mr. Fernandes to Tiverton Police at (401) 625-6717 or to their local police via 911.
