The United Veterans Council of Barrington will hold its annual Veterans Day ceremony at Barrington High School's Victory Gate on Thursday, Nov. 11, beginning at 11 a.m.

The theme of this year's event will be to honor America's veterans and their sacrifices in securing our freedoms and defending our rights. The ceremony will include a wreath-laying at the location of the bronze plaque that lists the names of Barrington's war dead.

Major Bill Groves, US Army Retired, will be the Master of Ceremonies. Father Angelo Carusi will be providing our invocation. Colonel Charlie Brule, US Army Retired, will be the key note speaker. The Color Guard will be provided by Barrington Boy Scouts. Taps will be played and the National Anthem will be sung by members of the Barrington High School Band and Chorus, respectively.
