Valentine's Day present arrives just in time for students: Snow day in Barrington

Snow falls all day Sunday, town digs out on Monday morning

It was 60 degrees on Saturday. It snowed all day Sunday. And on Monday, officials in Barrington canceled school. Welcome to New England weather.

On Saturday night, forecasters were calling for a dusting to two inches of snow to fall on Sunday. But the storm had other plans, and dropped around seven or eight inches of snow across the East Bay.

Early Monday (Valentine's Day) morning, school officials in Barrington canceled classes.

"Due to the timing of the storm's end for snow and ice removal and the unsafe conditions of our roads, February 14 is a Snow Day for students and teachers," stated an email from the district.
