Tyska: We must fight for more education funding

Posted

My campaign to represent the people of District 68 is rooted in a deep appreciation of this community and my desire to improve the lives of all who help to make it the place we love. My experience as a town councilman, community leader and business owner have taught me that progress is a product of compromise, collaboration and hard work.

Bristol and Warren are towns that reflect the strength and character of their citizens. Together, we have an opportunity to work toward an even stronger future.

We must support regional education by fighting for more state funding.

We must protect the bay and our environment to ensure resilience for the shoreline. We must encourage new economic growth and development of the local workforce.

I have the experience and a proven record of success that will move us beyond the status quo and achieve our shared goals.

Andy Tyska
Mr. Tyska is a Democratic candidate for R.I. House of Representatives, District 68.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
