Stefan F. Passmore, 61, Little Compton

Stefan F. Passmore, 61, of West Main Road, Little Compton, died Monday, April 14, 2014, at Crestwood Nursing Home, Warren. He was the son of Barbara (Camara) Passmore and the late Lavern Passmore.

He was an honorary member and volunteer of the Little Compton Fire Department.

Besides his mother, he leaves two sisters, Penny Grant of Buena Vista, Col., and Priscilla Andrews of Fall River. He was the brother of the late Letitia Marie, Peter and Jay Passmore; grandson of the late Manuel and Jennie Camara, and Olive Coffman; and nephew of Carolyn Montgomery, Jane Thurston, Judy Smeckert and John Thurston. He leaves nieces and nephews Shannon, Neil, Angie, Joshua S., Joshua V., Adam, Kimberly, Christopher, Jared and Peter.

His funeral will be held Thursday, April 24 at 8:30 a.m. from the Fern Acres Funeral Home, 72 Willow Ave., Little Compton, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Catherine of Siena Church, on the Commons at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Little Compton. Visiting hours, 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Flowers will be accepted or donations to: Riverwood Health Services, P.O. Box 226, Warren, R.I. 02885.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
