Registration for a 5-foot by 20-foot plot at the Barrington Community Garden for new lessees began March 14 and runs through March 27.

Registration for those who have leased a plot in 2021 already took place from Feb. 28 to March 13. Registration packets can be found on the website, www.barringtoncommunitygarden.org. Plots are available for $25 for lease during the 2022 season.

Payment must be made by check imprinted with a Barrington address or accompanied by a copy of an ID showing your Barrington address. Completed forms and payment can be dropped off at the town hall or mailed to Barrington Community Garden, c/o Cyndee Fuller, Barrington Town Hall, 283 County Road, Barrington, RI 02806.

The Barrington Community Garden is a volunteer-run, organic garden with 60 plots available for lease to Barrington residents. There is a community herb garden for lessees to snip and use the herbs as needed, a pergola for shade, organic compost for soil enrichment, and water supplied through a solar-operated pump. All lessees are required to contribute two hours per season towards the care and upkeep of common areas.

The garden is located on the Wampanoag Trail on the right, just after entering Barrington (southbound).
