PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth High School unified volleyball team went through the regular season undefeated, but lost to Bishop Hendricken in the Division I state championship game on Sunday.

The Hawks took both games in the finals by scores of 25-13 and 25-21 at Johnson and Wales University’s Wildcat Center.

Competing in Division II last year, the Patriots won their second state title in four years when they defeated Cranston West.

Moving up to Division I this year didn’t seem to slow the Patriots down. They won all seven games of the regular season before finally meeting their match in Hendricken.
