Portsmouth adjusts dates for recycling events

Posted

PORTSMOUTH — Due to the COVID-19 virus, there are several recycling events that will need to be rescheduled. Please note the following adjustments:

• The electronic waste (e-waste) collection slated for Thursday, April 11, from 9 a.m. to noon at Portsmouth High School, will continue as planned. However, the company providing this collection, Indie Cycle, asks that residents have their electronic waste ready for removal from their cars and that they remain in their cars as much as possible. Collection guidelines for this event are available on the town’s website (portsmouthri.com).

• The free shredding event scheduled for Saturday, May 9, from 9 a.m. to noon at Clements’ Marketplace, has now been pushed back until Saturday, Aug. 8.

• The introduction of a food waste collection program at the Portsmouth Transfer Station will now be pushed back for a mid-May startup.

Residents are asked to monitor the town’s website in the event of any further scheduling adjustments.
