'Phantom of the Opera' with live music at Jane Pickens Theatre

Posted

Just in time for Halloween, the classic silent horror flick "Phanton of the Opera," starring Lon Chaney ,will hit the big screen accompanied by live music this Thursday, Oct. 26, at Jane Pickens Theatre!

The screening, the latest in the venue's silent film series, will feature live accompaniment by Jeff Rapsis, a New Hampshire-based composer who specializes in creating music for silent films. "The original 'Phantom' is a film that seems to get creepier as more time passes," said Rapsis, who accompanies films at screenings throughout the nation. "It's a great way to celebrate Halloween, and also the power of silent film to transport audiences to strange and unusual places."
