No toll relief in House Finance budget

Posted

The RI House Finance Committee sent its 2013-14 budget recommendations to the full House Tuesday morning. The committee did not include alternate funding for bridge maintenance so did nothing to stop tolls.

"Now is the time to flood our reps and senators, and especially Speaker of the House, Gordon D. Fox, with e-mails and calls. Emphasize the negative economic impact of having tolls on the Sakonnet Bridge.Tell them to add funding provided for in bill H-6210," said Bill Clark, Portsmouth's director of business development.

"Solve the statewide problem with a statewide solution," he added
