Newport Vineyards hosts its annual Harvest Festival

This Saturday and Sunday, Oct 28 and 29, Newport Vineyards hosts its sixth annual Harvest Festival. They will feature an array of wines, beers, and festive treats, with live musi c by local bands Straight Outta Rehab on Saturday and The Cold Wayne Trio on Sunday. 

There will be Grape-Stomp, Stein Hosting, and Halloween costume contests. Grape stomping will take place at 12:15 and 3:15 each day. The Stein hoisting contest will be at 1:15 and 4:15 each day. Contestants will be randomly selected from the audience.

WHEN: Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 28 and 29, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 2:30 to 5 p.m. each day

WHERE: Newport Vineyards, 909 East Main Rd, Middletown

PRICING: $35 per General Admission ticket, $30 per Case Club or Cru Club members' ticket, children under the age of 15 do not need to purchase a ticket for entry, children over the age of 16 require a non-tasting ticket acquired by emailing info@newportvineyards.com

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
