Horse-drawn carriage rides

“Oh, what fun it is to ride”… Come enjoy some old-fashioned holiday fun at Blithewold on a horse-drawn carriage ride. A bow- and garland-festooned carriage holding up to 8 people will take a trip down our wooded Lover’s Lane, then cross Blithewold’s Great Lawn. Families will be photographed in the sleigh before the ride begins. Allan Millora Photography will provide each family with a digital image to keep, or offer your choice of a selected photo package.

WHERE: Blithewold, 101 Ferry Road, Bristol
WHEN: Saturday, Nov. 24, noon to 4 p.m. (Sunday is sold out)
COST: $80 for a group of 4, each additional person $10

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
