Historic Warren, a collaborative of Warren’s museum and historical agencies, will celebrate Museum Day on Saturday, May 18, from 12 to 4 p.m. Local museums will open their doors to the public and provide exhibits, demonstrations, tours of their collections, and fun activities for families.

The Historic Warren group includes the Charles Whipple Greene Museum at the Library on Main Street, the Washington Lodge #3 on Baker Street, the Town Fire Department Museum on Baker Street, the Warren Historic Armory on Jefferson Street, and the Massasoit Historical Association on Church Street, which will also host a photo display from the Warren Preservation Society’s collection.

Free Historic Sites maps will be available at each museum which detail historic houses, public buildings and churches in Warren’s Historic District. The map is designed to be used as a self guided walking or biking tour.

The group’s collaborative projects in recent years have revealed the agencies’ collections digitally, and cemented the organization. Its major project, the popular Historic Warren Facebook page, which started in April, 2022, includes 10 posts a month, and provides details about people, publications, buildings, artifacts, events, and businesses from Warren’s past.

For more information, visit the group’s website at HistoricWarren.org, or its Facebook page: Historic Warren.
