The Barrington Diamond Club will host a special golf tournament to benefit the Barrington High School baseball team.

The tournament is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 6, at Swansea Country Club. The fee — $125 per player or $500 per foursome — will include a round of golf, use of a cart and dinner following the tournament. People can also register to attend just the dinner for $40.

The Barrington Diamond Club supports the Barrington High School baseball team, which rolled through postseason play last spring to reach the state finals, earning the opportunity to play at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket.

The Oct. 6 golf tournament is scheduled for a noon shotgun start (scramble format) and will be followed by a dinner, awards and raffle starting at approximately 5 p.m.

For more information, to register, or to donate call Jack Coffey at 401-258-3499 or BHS Baseball Coach Vin Scandura at 401-286-2705.

Officials are hoping to raise enough money to fund a spring training trip for next spring's BHS baseball team.
