Posted

Former Barrington resident Cassidy Edmondson was recently selected to participate in the 2017 Miss Teen pageant competition that will take place on Sunday, Nov. 26.

Miss Edmondson, a student at St. Mary Academy-Bay View, learned of her acceptance into this year's competition when the pageant announced its selections following interviews conducted in the area.

Miss Edmondson, 16, will be competing for her share of thousands of dollars in prizes and specialty gifts that will be distributed to contestants. She is participating in the Miss Teen division, one of four divisions that will have young ladies ages of 7 through 20 competing in modeling routines, which include casual wear and formal wear.

Miss Edmondson, who recently moved to Swansea, Mass., will display her personality and interviewing skills with the judging panel. Personality is the number one aspect that each contestant is judged on during all phases of competition. If Miss Edmondson were to win the title of Miss Teen, she would represent her community at the National Competition that will take place in Orlando, Fla.

Community businesses, organizations, and private individuals are assisting Miss Edmondson in participating in this year's competition by becoming an official sponsor to her. Among her sponsors to date are: Plush Salon, Hair and Makeup by Makayla Rodriques and Barbara Patriarca; Etcetra Fashion by Naomi Salvatore, Stylist; Sherry Snow Residential Properties Ltd.; Seekonk Total Fitness; Warren German American Club; Maryjane and Bain Edmondson; Patti and Wayne Lefrancois; Wayne Construction; and Blue Kangaroo Cafe.

Any business, organization, or private individual who may be interested in becoming a sponsor to Cassidy may contact the Miss Teen pageant coordinator, at 1-877-910-4190 mention Finalist#16033.
