Don’t forget, Earth Hour is this Saturday night

Barrington Conservation Commission encouraging residents to participate

Posted

On Saturday, March 23, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. local time, residents are asked to participate in “Earth Hour,” which encourages communities to turn off non-essential lights for one hour as a way to give back to the planet.

“With the rising sea levels and the increasing flooding our town is experiencing, let us play our part in coming together to show we care about the world we live in and commit an hour to conserving energy,” stated a press release from the Barrington Conservation Commission.

This combined power of small actions is the symbolic message of Earth Hour, a movement organized by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to bring awareness to climate change.
