The Rhode Island Police Chiefs Association (RIPCA) recently presented their annual awards for excellence in law enforcement, and recipients included Bristol’s own School Resource Officer Keith Medeiros, one of three honored with Community Officer of the Year awards. Medeiros was credited for his positive impact on the Bristol community by consistently demonstrating empathy and compassion in his interactions with students through his pioneering therapy dog program with K9 Brody.
Here he is pictured on the far left (holding award) along with Brody, Bristol Chief Kevin Lynch, current RIPCA President, and Col. Bradford Connor of Warwick, incoming RIPCA President.
