Bristol Police made one arrest and looked for a man who was reportedly exposing himself at a local beach between Aug. 7-14, 2023.

Bristol PD: Police make one arrest for vandalism

Monday, Aug. 7
Police looked for a pickup near the Warren line on Metacom Avenue that was reportedly engaging in possible narcotics activity at 6:39 p.m. but they didn’t find anyone in the area.

Police dispersed a man who was allegedly intoxicated and lying down in the rear parking lot at Dunkin’ Donuts on Metacom Avenue at 6:46 p.m.

A caller on Hope Street reported several people were living in tents in the woods at 7:06 p.m.

Tuesday, Aug. 8
Fraud was reported on High Street at 11:27 a.m.

An injured bird was given assistance on Charles Street at 1:07 p.m.

A liquor law violation was reported to police at 6:39 p.m.

Wednesday, Aug. 9
An open burn on Viking Drive was reported at 12:33 p.m. The resident was advised of the ordinance for open burns in Town.

A report at 2:36 p.m. indicated that a man was exposing himself to people at the Union Street Beach on Hope Street. Police reported that the suspect was served a no trespass order.

Greg Alexander, 42, of 423 Metacom Ave., Bristol, was arrested at 5:44 p.m. and charged with one count of domestic violence (vandalism, first offense).

Juveniles walking over the Mt. Hope Bridge were reported at 11:05 p.m. They were dispersed safely.

Thursday, Aug. 10
A BMW driver was reportedly littering while driving in Colt State Park at 7:30 a.m. The caller said they instructed the person to pick up their trash and the driver became confrontational. Police didn’t find the person in the area.

Police received a report that a man had thrown a rat at a building on Hope Street at 2:48 p.m.

Police dispersed a man who was laying on the grass next tot he drive-thru window at Dunkin’ Donuts on Metacom Avenue at 5:50 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 11
Police looked for a person who was allegedly taking pictures on Wood Street while riding a moped at 10:24 a.m., but they didn’t locate the person.

A report that documents had been stolen from a home on Franca Drive was logged at 1:26 p.m.

An erratically driving vehicle on the Mt. Hope Bridge was reported at 1:29 p.m. but it was gone when police arrived.

Police checked on a report of people gathering near the Mt. Hope Bridge and leaving behind trash. Three people were dispersed from the area and DEM was notified about the trash.

Saturday, Aug. 12
Officers assisted a man who was waving at traffic who appeared in need of help at 12:41 p.m. He was looking for a bus stop, and police provided the information.

Police looked in the area of the Prudence Island Ferry at 9:35 p.m. for the report of a large group of men fighting but the scene was quiet when they arrived.

DEM was notified of a vessel lighting off fireworks from the Kickemuit River at 9:46 p.m.

Sunday, Aug. 13
A High Street resident reported at 3:23 a.m. that they thought they heard someone trying to break into their home. Police cleared the scene to provide peace of mind.

Credit card fraud was reported on West Harbor Road at 9:52 a.m.

A caller reported that people were doing burnouts in a parking lot on Metacom Avenue at 3:24 p.m. The man they found said he was teaching his wife how to drive a standard transmission vehicle. They were dispersed.

A caller on Ryan Avenue reported one of their female employees, who was doing deliveries, was met at the door by a man wearing no clothes.

Excessive trash on Lower Ferry Road was reported at 5:43 p.m.

Monday, Aug. 14
Loose pigs were reported at Coggeshall Farm at 6:49 a.m. They were corralled back into the farm by the time police arrived.
