A Medicare scam was reported at 2:10 p.m. on Bay View Avenue.

The theft of a package was reported on Massasoit Avenue at 4:36 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 19
A report of narcotics was logged from Mt. Hope High School at 9:05 a.m.

The theft of a sculpture from a garage on North Lane was reported at 2:32 p.m.

Police assisted with a verbal dispute between employees on Thames Street at 3:02 p.m.

Bank fraud was reported on Bay View Avenue at 3:16 p.m.

A person was trespassed from the Cedar Smoke & Vape shop on Metacom Avenue at 6:37 p.m. after a report of shoplifting was made.

Wednesday, Sept. 20
Police dispersed two men from the area of the Hope Street post office at 1:13 a.m.

A caller reported someone was camping at the Town Beach parking lot at 7:14 p.m. utilizing a pop-up camper. They were dispersed from the area.

A report of another possibly homeless individual was logged at the Quinta-Gamelin Community Center parking lot on Asylum Road at 9:57 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 21
Police investigated a dispute between contractors on King Philip Avenue at 10:04 a.m.

Damage to a stone wall on Hope Street was logged at 3:04 p.m.

Police looked for people involved in a reported fight in the area of the Reynolds School at 5:43 p.m. but the parties allegedly involved were no longer at the scene.

Police responded to an incident involving a protest happening within the 100 Acre Woods on Elmwood Drive at 6:01 p.m. A report from DEM law enforcement clarified the incident involved a local resident utilizing a megaphone to deter hunters in the area.

Friday, Sept. 22
A rescue was requested for the operator of a car that was reported as stopped in the center span of the Mt. Hope Bridge at 6:14 a.m.

Several syringes were reported at Coelho Park on Jenny Lane at 9:02 a.m. The items were secured in a sharps container.

Police looked in the area of Franklin and Wood Streets at 5:27 p.m. following the report of a woman striking a man. They weren’t found.

Police responded to Poppasquash Road at 6:49 p.m. for the report of someone hunting on private property. DEM investigated and found the person had permission to be there.

Saturday, Sept. 23
A caller on Hope Street reported at 12:38 a.m. that a man with no shirt on was peering into his home.

An officer called for a rescue after finding a man laying on the ground near State and High Streets at 1:06 a.m. following the report of a fight in the area.

A large fire on Griswold Avenue at 7:49 a.m. brought Swansea, Warren, Portsmouth, Tiverton, Barrington, and Middletown apparatus to the location to help fight the fire.

A faulty extension cord brought fire personnel to a Hope Street address at 7:36 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 24
A broken window was reported at a business on Hope Street at 7:04 a.m.

A caller reported at 6:09 p.m. that another customer had taken some cash from them that they had left at a self-checkout kiosk two days prior.
