Two deer were killed after darting out on the roadway and struck by passing vehicles. In the first incident, Heidi Small was driving a car that struck a deer on Turnpike Avenue near Route 24 South at about 5:15 a.m. Shortly before 8 p.m., a vehicle driven by Dennis Bale of Newport hit a deer on Route 24 near Freeborn Street. The car sustained severe, disabling damage and Mr. Bale was transported to Newport Hospital after complaining of chest pains, police said.

Dillon R. Adams, 23, of 35 Harbor Village Drive, Apt. 3, Middletown, was charged with being a fugitive of justice at about 6:45 p.m. Mr. Adams was a passenger in a car stopped for speeding on West Main Road near the Middletown line. A records check revealed that Mr. Adams was wanted by Swansea Police.

Thursday, March 16

Michael S. Bouchard, 34, of 62 Catherine St., Bristol, was charged at about 2:30 a.m. with driving while intoxicated (second offense) and illegal possession of a knife. Police said they found Mr. Bouchard’s vehicle parked partially in the roadway on the westbound lane of Boyd’s Lane. After an officer pulled his cruiser behind the vehicle, it started heading toward Chase Road, police said. Police pulled the vehicle over on the Route 24 North on-ramp near Boyd’s Lane. During a search, police said they found a silver knife with a blade over three inches long in Mr. Bouchard’s front pocket.

Cameron T. Monte, 18, of 167 Rogers Lane, Middletown, was arrested at about 1:55 p.m. at Portsmouth High School on the felony charge of possessing an Alprazolam pill. According to police, a school employee found the pill while searching Mr. Monte, who could not produce a prescription for the drug.

Kyle G. Munroe, 26, of 665 Main Ave., Warwick, was charged at about 7:10 p.m. with driving while intoxicated, illegal possession of Lorazepam and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Police responded to Corys Lane near West Main Road for a report of a car with a flat tire and damaged headlight. When they arrived, police said they found Mr. Munroe inside the vehicle. During a search, police found in Mr. Munroe’s pocket a small bag containing Lorazepam, for which he could not produce a prescription.

Saturday, March 18

Cristy M. Camacho, 21, of 964 Broad St., Apt. 3C, Providence, was charged at about midnight on driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Police said they stopped the vehicle Ms. Camacho was driving on West Main Road near Raytheon because it had left the lane of travel.

Monday, March 20

Bobbie Gaspar, 45, of 24 Morgan St., was charged shortly after 8 a.m. with domestic disorderly conduct. The charge stems from an incident on March 15, when police reported to Mr. Gaspar’s home for a report of ongoing harassment. A 39-year-old local woman told police that Mr. Gaspar had threatened her during a phone conversation and later sent several texts after she told him to stop, police said. A warrant was issued for Mr. Gaspar’s arrest and he turned himself in on March 20.

Sonya D. Moitoza, 39, of 49 Kristen Court, was charged shortly before 11 a.m. with domestic vandalism. The charge stemmed from an incident first reported on March 18, when police responded to Ms. Moitoza’s home at about 7:40 a.m. for a report of a domestic dispute that had occurred earlier that morning, police said. During an argument with a 33-year-old local man, police said Ms. Moitoza grabbed his backpack and chain that was attached to his wallet, which became broken from the chain. A warrant was issued for Ms. Moitoza’s arrest and she turned herself in on March 20, police said.

Scott R. Rose, 39, of 17 Mohawk Drive, was charged at about 7:50 p.m. on a felony Superior Court warrant. An officer with knowledge of the warrant — for failure to appear in court to answer a charge of drug possession with intent to deliver — arrested Mr. Rose at his home.

Tuesday, March 21

Benita R. Monteiro, 68, of 564 High Hill Road, North Dartmouth, was charged at about 1:45 a.m. with driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Police stopped her car on West Main Road near Cory’s Lane because of a broken taillight.
