PORTSMOUTH — Bluenose Yacht Sales, the largest Jeanneau yacht dealer in New England, has acquired SailTime Group and has established its offices and marina at 39 Alexander Road, next to New England Boatworks.
“Bluenose Yacht Sales is one of the most respected names in sailing and power yachting in New England,” said Todd Hess, CEO of SailTime, one of the world’s leading boat membership franchises. “We are incredibly fortunate to have such a powerful brand in this region partnered with us.”
Bluenose Yacht Sales represents Beneteau Group's Jeanneau and CNB Bordeaux 60, 66 and new CNB 76, Saffier Yachts, HH Catamarans and others.
Opened in 2005, the company now has offices in Portsmouth, Newport, Boston, Noank, Conn., Annapolis, Md. and Rockport, Maine. Bluenose has a new Jeanneau 349 in its SailTime Fleet for next season and expecting either a 389 or 419 to be purchased by a new buyer before 2019.
“SailTime is a terrific match for Bluenose Yacht Sales and our mission of introducing New Englanders to the finest sailing yachts from Jeanneau,” said Glenn Walters, Bluenose Yacht Sales’ managing partner. “Our team has a real passion for boating, and our SailTime partnership helps to share that passion with a new generation of boaters. In this era of the sharing economy, the SailTime model and platform is a perfect fit.”
The idea behind SailTime is to allow boat enthusiasts who don’t want the commitment or expense of ownership to purchase blocks of time —scheduled online — to enjoy sail or powerboats. When finished, they turn the keys over to the SailTime team to clean up and maintain the boat. Fees start at a few hundred dollars a month.
