Bristol Town Council will hold a special town council meeting Tuesday night, Oct. 29 to discuss the Poppasquash Road water line project, as well as financing matters of the Bristol County Water Authority.
The meeting takes place at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall on Court Street.
BCWA has completed the first phase of the Poppasquash project, which connected water lines from Clifton and Duffield roads to Asylum Road. That increased water flow to residents of Harbor View Avenue, thus enabling the use of a fire hydrant.
However, the remaining phases of the project are currently on hold.
The discussion revolves around which entity – the Town of Bristol or the BCWA – should fund the remaining phases that would upgrade the water lines along Poppasquash. The town has already spent $400,000 for phase 1, and it's unclear as to which entity should fund the remainder of the project.
