Barrington Scouts collect nearly two tons of food

Scouts blanket Barrington during annual food drive

Posted

The Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts of Barrington came together earlier this month to collect items for the annual Scouting for Food program.

Overcoming many logistical hurdles and local restrictions, the activity proved to be a great success, amassing a haul of just under two tons of food from town residents that went directly to the Rhode Island Foodbank.

More than 100 Barrington families took part in the food drive collection effort, and many more stepped up to donate food.

Scouts wanted to share a special thank you to the Barrington Presbyterian Church, which offered up its parking lot to the Scouts during the food drive.
