Posted

Barrington native Julia Soares, a junior on the Gettysburg College field hockey team, scored in four straight games recently.

Soares, who was a standout at Barrington High School, scored two goals as Gettysburg defeated Washington College 2-1 in its Centennial Conference opener. The two-goal performance followed another strong game for Soares, when she tallied the only goal in Gettysburg's 1-0 win over Alvernia University in a non-league game.

Soares also scored twice in Gettysburg's 6-2 win over McDaniel College.

Gettysburg is 5-1 overall and 2-0 in the Centennial Conference.
