Barrington cuts its Walker Farm kayak storage rate in half
Price reduced because of construction inconvenience
The price to store a kayak, paddle board or canoe at Walker Farm has been reduced.
Barrington officials have cut the price for a storage sticker to $25, half of the normal rate. Barrington Town Manager Phil Hervey said the price was reduced because there will be construction at Walker Farm this summer, likely resulting in some inconvenience to those storing their equipment there.
Barrington will use a random drawing to determine who can purchase boat or kayak storage stickers this year. Town officials decided to use the random drawing as demand for the boat and kayak storage stickers has grown dramatically over the years. Previously, the town used a first-come, first-served approach. The deadline to register for the random drawing was March 17.
The live drawing will take place via zoom on Monday, March 21 at 1:30 p.m. Registrations will be audited prior to the drawing, and duplicate addresses will be disqualified. Anyone who has difficulty registering online can contact the Peck Center at 247-1926 or stop by the center for assistance.
