The Westport girls tennis team lost a close one at home to Fairhaven last week by a score of 2-3.
Results were:
• 1 singles: Kayla Pimentel (Westport) lost to Lexi Lima (4-6, 4-6)
• 2 singles: Annie MacMaster (W) defeated Alexis Duarte (6-1, 6-3)
• 3 singles: Angela Mulroy (W) lost to Kelly Dibacio (2-6, 4-6)
• 1 doubles: Emily Moniz/Grace Moran (W) lost to Valeri Gillette/Lacey Pinard (0-6, 4-6)
• 2 doubles: Myia Weizman/Sam Arsenault defeated Kaelyn Bourgeois/Kaitlyn Duarte (6-3, 6-1)
Coach Matt Kampper said that Annie MacMaster’s win boosted her record to 5-1 on the season from the second singles spot; she is an 8th grader.
And the match also brought Myia Weizman's first varsity win; she is a 10th grader.
The loss dropped Westport to 3-3 (2-1 in league play) going into Thursday’s match at Somerset-Berkley.
