The 2016 season got underway last week and the league hosted a full slate of games this weekend. Scores and photos will be posted on a weekly basis throughout the season. Here’s the results of this week’s action:

Nationals 11, Marlins 4

Riley Boughton pitched 3 2/3 innings, striking out nine batters. Matt Ahrendt  had a double and a triple with four RBIs. Otto Kallfelz added two hits while Jackson Howland reached base three times, scoring two runs.

Mike Lombardi pitched well for the Marlins and added a hit and two runs. Daniel Vittoria and Lorenzo Vasquez  both reached base two times.

Blue Jays 14, Angels 3

Mathew Sampson and Mason Furtado pitched well for the Blue Jays. Ben Peters, Zachary Saotome, Colin Maloney, Lila Maloney and Travis Furtado all added hits for the Blue Jay offense.

Tucker Dewolf led the way for the Angels with one hit and two runs. Evan Malone had one hit and a run, while Derick Case pithed in with a hit.

Nationals 14, Angels 3

George Piper led the offense with two hits and three RBIs. Matt Ahrendt and Riley Boughton added hits for the Nationals. Kyle Pavao reached base three times, and Riley Howland finished the game with a strong performance on the mound.

Alex Mancieri pitched three strong innings and scored twice. Bianca Chavez scored a run, and Cody Joly had a nice game behind the plate for the Angels.

Marlins 10, A’s 4

Brennan Perry pitched a strong game for A's. Shawn Zimmerman led the offensive attack with three hits and five RBIs.

The A's were led by Oliver Conway with two hits and Gavin Akervik with a hit and two RBIs.

Nick Patalano did a great job catching all six innings.

Blue Jays 3, A’s 2

Mathew Sampson led the Blue Jays offense with a line drive double. Zachary Saotome and Lila Maloney each added a hit, and Mason Furtado did great, catching the entire game.

Josh Vitullo pitched four solid innings, allowing one run and striking out eight. The A's offense was led by Nick Patalano with two hits, including a triple.

Gavin Akervik added a single and an RBI.
