The undefeated Mt. Hope softball team clobbered Rogers, 12-3, in Newport on Thursday afternoon. The win boosted the first place Huskies to an 8-0 record in Division III East.

The Lady Huskies jumped out to an early lead scoring seven runs over the first three innings. Jessica Cerce and Madison Reis helped provide the offense, each belting four hits and three doubles during the game. Reis drove in two runs. Cerce and Brianna Gendreau each crossed the plate three times. Gendreau went 2-4 with an RBI single.
Meanwhile, Reis’ pitching baffled the Vikings. The Huskies hurler struck out nine batters and allowed just one earned-run over seven innings.

In 2015, the Lady Huskies went 18-0 with an undefeated season and remain undefeated this year with an overall record of 9-0.

Next up: The Huskies face Portsmouth on Saturday 4/30 at 6:30 p.m. at Colt State Park.
