The Barrington High School basketball camp returns this summer.

The 16th year of Eagles Hoop Camp will camp will run daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the weeks of June 27 to July 1 and July 11 to July 15.

The camp is open to both boys and girls, ages 8 to 15. The cost of the camp is $235 per a week or a special rate of $420 for both weeks. Space is limited to 60 campers each week.

Alumni lacrosse game

A BHS alumni lacrosse game is planned for May 22.

Barrington High School will welcome back former members of the boys' lacrosse team for an alumni game on Sunday, May 22. The game will be played at 1 p.m. on Victory Field.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
