I've kept my thoughts and opinions on this subject to myself, however after reading this I cannot contain them any longer!!!!!!!! I've have never heard of anything so sickening and ludicrous in all my life! Not even being a member of the EPPD, I am highly insulted as a law enforcement officer. I don't know who is more to blame, the coward that is dragging and demeaning each and every police officer in this state that dons their uniform with pride and integrity, or the State Police for entertaining such a request. I am so insulted and shocked over this that I'm beyond words. Chief ( I use that term loosely) Joe Tavares, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!!!! The respect and dignity that you left behind in Warwick has been dwindling slowly, however this latest maneuver is an INSULT to officers everywhere! Apparently leading your troops is not your strong point. FOR SHAME!!!!! What happened to you? To my brothers and sisters that protect and serve my city, keep up the amazing work you do each and every day. It is so unfair to all of you that risk your lives each day to serve the city of East Prividence under what appears to be the poorest leadership in the history of your department. God Bless and stay safe.
