Report Inappropriate Comments

I must disagree with the previous posts and the ever-partial coverage of the Post. What happened to the straightforward news reporting, without the extra commentary and the need to create a controversy? Then again, it is easy to do it when one doesn't have to actually sell their newspaper to subscribers. The incessant theorizing and conjecture about what is strictly a personnel issue internal to East Providence provides disservice to the newas readers. What should be troubling to taxpayers of EP is that the unelected Mayor is trying to play a real one, and meddling with matters specifically barred in the City Charter. He values the State's involvement over the local control, and is enabling the State, who (at least on the surface) handed the control back to the City, to bestow a $750,000 worth of unneeded AFO services on EP. Is this really the best plan? Let the real elected officials and professionals hired to do the job run things again in EP.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
