Rick Veirra (Taco) and I were fishing under the bridge at the time, our first day out this season. Within an hour or so of setting the anchor, I noticed traffic had stopped on the bridge, and thought there must have been a car accident. Shortly after, Rick spotted something floating towards our boat, and wondered if it was some kind of debris from the crash. As it got closer, I noticed it was a body, which eventually came right up to the boat. We radioed in to the US Coast Guard, and the Bristol Fire Dept boat immediately came over to us for the recovery.

At first, we thought he must have been ejected from an accident on the bridge. However, we then heard over the marine radio for all mariners to stay on the lookout for a possible bridge jumper near the Mt. Hope Bridge. Sad story.
