What has been eye opening for me is the huge amount of special interest money flowing into this race for Joe's opponent, Gregg Amore. Amore is on track to haul in more than half of his funds from special interest PACs.

This money comes with strings attached - when special interests donate massive amount of money (will very likely be 5 digits when all is said and done) they expect something back.

Rhode Island does not need more beholden legislators - when legislators do the bidding of the special interests we get the mess that we are mired in now.

Voters need to pay attention to whether a candidate will be working in their best interest, or in the best interest of special interests.

It is time to elect someone dedicated to fixing the problems of our day: the economy and the quality of the educations our kids and grandkids are receiving from our public schools.

It is time to elect Joe Botelho.
