Santos deserves a vote? Have you lost your mind? He was part of the School Committee that gambled with $1.5M in taxpayer money on an overpriced lawyer to see if they could break a union. When that little political science experiment blows up, the teachers are going to get paid $3.5M plus interest! How short your memories are. This lady has two jobs, two school-aged children and a two week notice to show up to a debate? You have got to be kidding. Santos deserves nothing. His past political record speaks volumes. You just keep telling yourselves these little stories if that will help you sleep at night. The rest of us will vote for the best choice. Ms. Capobianco, you have my vote and the vote of my entire family. We need change in this city, not recycled politicians who couldn't get the job done in the first place.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
