Jeff, I am very sorry for your loss.

There is one thing that you may want to consider.

I have a friend whose dog ate a mouse that had been killed by mouse poison. She began to bleed, but they saw her eat the mouse and they were able to give an antidote on time. The poison causes bleeding; that's how the rodents die.

If that is a possibility, it may ease your mind to know Siren may not have been murdered.
