Details posted for Memorial Day Motorcade in East Providence

EAST PROVIDENCE — The City of East Providence is partnering with the American Legion Riverside Post 10 to hold a Memorial Day Motorcade in honor of veterans on Monday, May 25. The procession begins at 10 a.m.

In light of the COVID-19 Pandemic and we want to ensure we do everything possible to maintain social distance.
The following rules are in place:

1) Arrive at 9:30 a.m., motorcade starts at 10 a.m. sharp

2) Do not exit your vehicles

3) Maintain Social Distance at all times.

4) Wear a face covering if for some reason you do need to exit your vehicle

5) Lining up for motorcade
a) On Arrival vehicles should line up on Bullocks Point Ave facing North (Line it up all the way to the Terrace)
b) Additional Vehicles can use the carousel parking lot and Rose Larissa parking lots
c) If needed vehicle will be able to line up on Crescent View Ave

6) Spectators on Motorcade Route should follow all existing guidelines and avoid groups of more than 5, wear face coverings and maintain social distance.

7) Motorcade will try to maintain 10 to 15 mph speed and will be making stops at War Memorials for a rifle volley salute. Please do not exit your vehicle when they stop for the salutes.

The planned route for the Memorial Day procession is as follows:

• Leave Looff Carousel north on Bullocks Pt. Ave. to Pawtucket Ave.
• North on Pawtucket Ave. to Veterans Memorial Pkwy.
• North on Veterans Memorial Pkwy to its northern intersection with First St.
• North on First St. to Warren Ave.
• East on Warren Ave. to Purchase St.
• North on Purchase St. to Taunton Ave.
• East on Taunton Ave. to Hall St.
• North on Hall St. to Taunton Ave.
• West on Taunton Ave. to N. Broadway
• North on N. Broadway to Newman Ave.
• North on Newman Ave. to Pawtucket Ave.
• South on Pawtucket Ave. to Bullocks Pt. Ave.
• South on Bullocks Pt. Ave. to Turner Ave.
• East on Turner Ave. to Willett Ave.
• South on Willett Ave to American Legion Post 10.
