PORTSMOUTH—The UConn Division I mens team knocked four time defending champs, UMass Amherst off the block and won the Beast of the East cup championship 10-7 at Glen Farm on Sunday.
UConn outlasted Salisbury in their first match 17-14, lost to UMass Amherst 21-7 and buried Boston College 20-0 on Saturday earning them a spot in the D-I cup championship on Sunday, according to head coach Bob Merola.
