Letter: Rabble-rousing does no favors at the ballot box

Posted

To the editor:

Regular as clockwork each election cycle the Phoenix publishes a rabble-rousing letter from William Sousa Grapentine complaining about everything progressive and offering only sour grapes and noxious invective in return. The one time that this gentleman actually ran for office the only financial support that he was able to gain from local citizens was, like the organ grinder's monkey, the small change that he himself was able to contribute.

The more intelligent adherents of the Republican party do not yet seem to recognize that this rabble rousing and noxious invective diatribes are extremely counterproductive and help to ensure defeat at the ballot box. In spite of all hysteria against progressives, thinking people will always choose a way forward rather than regress backwards or remain stalled in neutral.
