To the editor:

Thank you to the Town Council members, cheerful volunteer workers, participating restaurants, police and firefighters, and all who were responsible for arranging such a wonderful opportunity for our townspeople to come together for a summer evening chock full of good fun at the Community Night Out.

A special wink to Tim Sweeney, who especially shone while judging the pie eating contests. And thank you to the good sports who sat in the dunk tank seat, taking the plunge over and over as the kids (and a few grownups) hit the metal plate with the ball. Thanks for the charming DJ, who was engaging the crowd, and played a great selection of music that had people tapping to, and singing along with, as well as dancing.

I think a few years ago he was at the Bristol Stomp, which is held in June. What fun! Please bring him back to that event, as he knows how to get people up and dancing.

Evenings like this are part of what makes our town so special!
