There will be two Memorial Day ceremonies held at Victory Gate on Monday, May 30.

The first, held by the Barrington United Veterans Council, will begin at 8 a.m. The second, set for 9 a.m., will be held by the town.

Lt. Col. (US Army, retired) Paul Dulchinos, president of the BUVC, will serve as the master of ceremonies. Members of Boy Scout Troops 2 and 46 will raise and lower to half-mast the American Flag, and a soloist from the Barrington High School Chorus will perform the National Anthem.

A military chaplain from the RI Army National Guard will share the opening prayer, and that will be followed by a brief wreath-laying ceremony and the reading of the names of “Barrington’s war dead.”

According to a press release from the Barrington United Veterans Council, the Barrington Police Department Honor Guard will perform a ceremonial gun salute, followed by Taps and Echo, which will be performed by members of the Barrington High School band.

A BHS student will read the Gettysburg address, and Dulchinos will give the keynote address.

The ceremony will conclude with a benediction offered by military chaplain from the RI Army National Guard.

The Barrington United Veterans Council will be live-streaming the event for those that cannot attend in person from its Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/BUVeteransCouncil
