BHS doubles team advances to state tournament finals
Barrington tennis team knocks off Cumberland and Smithfield
The Barrington High School boys tennis team picked up two wins last week, and also celebrated a number of strong performances in the individual state tournament which was held over the weekend.
The doubles team of Bryce Kupperman and Gabe Anderson continued its undefeated run this season and rolled through the competition at the state tournament. Kupperman and Anderson will play in the championship round of the state tournament next weekend.
Barrington’s top singles player, Luke Sapolsky, reached the semifinals of the tournament before losing to the defending state champion.
Barrington’s Jeremy Kuo reached the round of 16 and celebrated a big win before losing to his teammate, Sapolsky.
The doubles team of Garrett Meehan and Henry Birbiglia reached the quarterfinals of the tournament.
In team play last week, Barrington defeated Smithfield and Cumberland, both by a 7-0 margin. The Eagles are 7-1 in Division I play this season.
