Richard Carl Colella, 88, of Centerville, Mass. and formerly of Barrington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019 with his loving family at his side. Dick was born to the late Mary and Pasquale Colella on 15 April 1930. He was pre-deceased by his brother Roland.

An Army veteran, Dick graduated from East Providence High School in 1947 and the University of Vermont in 1951. He was a tremendous hockey player in both high school and college.

Dick was a professional equipment salesman and technician in both the dairy and hydraulics industries, supplying equipment to hundreds of dairies and a wide variety of businesses throughout New England.

He was an active member of the Osterville Men's Club and fondly reflected on the many meetings and activities that the group participated in, and sponsored. He was immensely grateful for the relationships within the group and the camaraderie of its members.

Dick was also an avid fisherman. His Mackenzie bass boat, the “Bevie C.,” named after his beloved wife, was one of his prized possessions that both he and Bev enjoyed while fishing throughout the Cape.

An extraordinarily devoted husband and father, he is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years (Beverly Alden Snow) and their three children: Peter (Heidi), Robin (Michael) and Kurt (Mary Ellen); eight grandchildren Annie, Martha (Brendan), Elizabeth (John), Matthew (Rebecca), Leigh (Timothy), Kathryn (Adam), Christine (Timothy), and Erin; and two great-granddaughters. Additionally, his siblings Paul (Marie), Evelyn (Roland Jenkins), and Marge (Joseph Scowcroft) survive him, along with many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life and burial will be held privately on Cape Cod.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's name can be made to: South Congregational Church, 565 Main Street Centerville, MA 02632

He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
