To the editor:
In my campaign for the District 66 seat, I am meeting voters every week.
We've talked about issues like Roe v. Wade and Gun Control, and my views are in the public record on my campaign Facebook page and website (https://www.facebook.com/ChungRIHouse66 and https://votechungdist66.com under Policy Statements).
Another issue deserves serious attention. I've met so many residents who are worried they'll need to leave Barrington because of property taxes. It's not right that people feel they're being forced to leave a town they love.
This is why I emphasize my background in finance and budgeting issues in my campaign. We need to find ways to finance our town that do not involve forcing people out. Any solution will require Statehouse involvement, and that is why I'm running.
John Chung
Barrington
Mr. Chung is a Democrat running for RI House of Representatives, District 66.
