Police: Man may have been sleeping on someone else's boat

Posted

A man called Barrington Police at about 9:25 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 21, after spotting someone getting on and off boats at a marina in Bullocks Cove.

The caller told police he had a boat at the marina and did not recognize the man as another boat owner.

Police responded to the marina and searched the area. They then heard a boat motor start up and someone flee the area, heading toward Riverside.

Police said the man driving that boat matched the description of the suspect. Police believe the man may have been sleeping on one of the boats at the marina.

Barrington Police also called East Providence Police to alert them to the situation.
