The Barrington High School girls tennis team competed in two tough matches last week — the Eagles defeated East Greenwich 5-2 and lost to LaSalle 4-3.

On Thursday, Barrington hosted LaSalle and picked up three team points in the loss — the Eagles are the only team in the state to win any matches against the Rams this season.

Barrington also had a number of players competing in the RIIL Individual State Tournament at Slater Park in Pawtucket.

Number one singles player Ava Koczera-Kasem made it to the quarterfinals, while Ava Grant also played well during a tough loss to PCD’s top singles player. Barrington’s top doubles team of Zeynep Abul and Addy Friedman lost in the quarterfinal to a pair from LaSalle.
