Eagles’ record is 4-4-6 as regular season nears its end

The Barrington High School boys soccer team moved its record to 4-4-6 after tying Lincoln 1-1 on Oct. 18 and losing to LaSalle 2-1 on Sunday night, Oct. 22. 

Barrington is ranked ninth in Division I and has one game remaining on its regular season schedule — the Eagles are slated to play at East Providence on Wednesday, Oct. 25. The game starts at 6:30 p.m. 

Girls volleyball

The Barrington High School girls volleyball team won two matches last week and improved its record to 10-3 in Division II standings. 

The Eagles opened the week with a 3-0 victory over St. Raphael’s Academy, 25-10, 25-14, 25-14. Sophia Denham led the Eagles with five kills, 11 assists, and four aces, and Tess Egge had five aces and four digs

Barrington followed that win with a 3-0 victory over Johnston, 25-13, 25-20, 25-17. Emma McCrann led the Eagles with eight kills and five digs, while Macy Breen had seven kills.

Barrington is scheduled to play at Mt. Hope on Thursday.

Girls soccer

The Barrington High School girls soccer team moved its record to 3-7-4 after losing twice last week and tying Chariho.

The Eagles lost to North Kingstown 3-2. Barrington opened the game with a 2-0 lead, after Liv Morrissette and Ellie Donato each scored first half goals. But the Skippers stormed back with three goals in the second half and went on to win, 3-2. 

Morrissette scored another goal against Cumberland, but it was not enough as the Clippers outscored the Eagles 5-1. 

In front of a home crowd on Monday night, Oct. 23, Barrington notched a 2-2 tie against Chariho. 

The Eagles are scheduled to play at Mt. Hope on Thursday, Oct. 25. 

Field hockey

Barrington defeated East Greenwich 4-0 on Wednesday, Oct. 18, and lost to LaSalle 2-1 on Oct. 16, pushing the Eagles’ record to 9-3 in Division I. Barrington was scheduled to play at East Greenwich earlier this week and rounds out the regular season schedule with a game at Cumberland on Thursday, Oct. 26.

Girls tennis

The Barrington High School girls tennis team improved to 10-2 after winning three matches last week.

The Eagles opened the week with a 7-0 victory over Prout School, and a day later knocked off Mt. St. Charles 7-0. Barrington rounded out the week with a 6-1 win over Mt. Hope. 

The Eagles are ranked third in Division I standings and will play against East Greenwich at home on Thursday.
