The Barrington High School boys ice hockey team moved its record to 5-2 in Division I standings after splitting games last weekend.
On Friday night, Barrington defeated Moses Brown 5-0. On Saturday night, the Eagles lost to LaSalle, 5-1.
Against the Quakers, Barrington built an early lead and never looked back. Cameron Hayes opened the scoring with a goal at the 6:04 mark in the first period. Connor Hayes and Brock Carroll assisted on the goal.
Adam Gorman made it 2-0 Barrington with a goal at 1:51 in the first. Trevor Snow and Ayden Sheedy assisted on the score.
Gorman had his second goal of the game to open the scoring in the second period. Snow came through with his second assist, and the senior made it 4-0 Barrington a short time later when he scored an unassisted short-handed goal.
Barrington capped the scoring at 4:05 in the third period when Henry Kelsey scored on a power play. Snow and Carroll had the assists.
Dom Bruzzi notched the shutout in net, stopping all 21 shots he faced.
Goals were harder to come by against LaSalle. Barrington’s lone goal came at the start of the third period: Snow scored on an assist from Kelsey that cut the lead to 3-1.
Cam Siwik faced 52 shots on goal — 19 in the first period, 18 in the second and 15 in the third. Barrington mustered 21 total shots for the game.
